Scoil Ui Mhuiri, Dunleer Project : Winner at RIAI Awards 2021

At Varming Consulting Engineers Ltd., our building design team has completed many successful projects at locations across Ireland. We’re extremely proud of the work we do in making the built environment a better place to be and we’re here to tell you about yet another award-winning project that our building services design consultants have been involved with.

At the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (RIAI) Awards 2021, the Scoil Ui Mhuiri project in Dunleer has been announced as the Winner of the Learning Environments category. Completed in 2020, this project was carried out on behalf of Louth & Meath Education & Training Board. The project involved a new 3,102 sq mtr post primary school.

Designing Mechanical & Electrical Services Installations
The Dunleer school project caters for 340 pupils, our M & E Consulting Engineers were commissioned to design the mechanical and electrical services installations for the post primary extension to the standalone establishment. Incorporated within it is a special needs unit, home economics rooms, woodwork and metalwork rooms and science labs.

Among the sustainable features included with this particular project were natural ventilation and rainwater harvesting, something that resulted in an A3 building energy rating being given. As always, we’re delighted when the work we’re involved in is recognised in this way, as it is an endorsement of our methods and dedication to sustainability.
