ACEI Budget Submission
Our CEO and ACEI Past President, James Kavanagh, was part of the ACEI delegation to present the ACEI budget submission to Paschal Donohoe Minister for Public Expenditure National Development Plan Delivery and Reform
The submission raised concerns from ACEI members, including a significant slowdown in critical infrastructure projects and the need for multi-annual budgeting for agencies such as Uisce Éireann and Transport Infrastructure Ireland. The ACEI submission also highlighted the importance of digitalising the construction industry, promoting sustainable construction, and encouraging talent recruitment within the engineering sector.
Furthermore, the ACEI reiterated its call to allow net contribution clauses in public sector contracts, which would address the current unfair situation where design professionals are held fully liable for the errors of others. You can read the full submission here.
