EED – 96 Bed Acute Inpatient Ward Block at University Hospital Limerick
Varming Consulting Engineers were recently appointed by O’Connell Mahon Architects as Energy Efficient Design (EED) Expert, in accordance with IS399:2014, associated with the new 96 Bed Acute Inpatient Ward Block at UHL.
The project consists of the construction of four 24 bed wards over 4 floors and associated hospital link corridors to integrate the development into the existing hospital and will enable staff and management at the hospital to provide inpatient accommodation in an appropriate setting, provide high quality & equitable care for all patients in a safe & secure environment and to achieve excellence in clinical practice.
The EED role is to ensure the project exceeds statutory requirements in all aspects of sustainability and achieves the highest levels of environmental effectiveness possible within project constraints and result in the most advantageous Life Cycle Cost outcomes.
The project is due to commence in September 2019 and compliments our extensive successful experience in the Healthcare and Sustainability Sectors.
