Meet Joe Greene is a seasoned management professional with over 30 years in the engineering industry. He joined Varming Consulting Engineers in 1995 and became an Associate by 2000. His expertise led to his appointment as Director, overseeing projects in Healthcare, Residential, Industrial, Educational, and Commercial sectors.  In 2005, Joe established our Roscommon office, delivering high-quality Building Services design to clients in the West, North-West, and Midlands. Promoted to Chairman in 2019, he now leads the company’s strategic direction. A Chartered Engineer, Joe is also a member of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland and the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland.

Declan joined Varming Consulting Engineers in 1993 and has since made significant contributions to the company’s growth and success. He joined the management team as an Associate in 2006 and has been responsible for the management of a diverse portfolio of projects in the healthcare, commercial, and industrial sectors. In recognition of his outstanding leadership skills, Declan was appointed Director of Varming Consulting Engineers in 2018 and now leads the Cork office. With a 1st Class Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and a Diploma in Project Management, Declan is a highly qualified professional with a passion for excellence. As a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow Member of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland, he upholds the highest professional standards in all his work.

Meet Declan Alcock who has 25 years’ experience, a decade of which is at Varming Consulting Engineers. He is a Chartered Engineer with a Master’s degree in Energy and Sustainable Building Design, a Certified Energy Auditor and holds several other qualifications in sustainability and building design. Declan is director and former Chairman of the Irish Green Building Council and a Chairman of Engineers Without Borders Ireland. Declan leads our sustainability group and pathway for Net Zero. He joined the management team as Project Director in 2014 and was appointed as a Director of Varming Consulting Engineers in 2020.

Alan joined the team in 2007 and has since been responsible for managing a portfolio of projects in the Residential and Healthcare sectors. In 2017, he joined the management team as a Project Director and in 2022 he became a Director of the company. In addition to his project management roles, Alan is responsible for ensuring the highest QHSE standards across the company.
