Varming Consulting Engineers were commissioned to design the mechanical and electrical services installations for the 60 Bed Acute Care Ward Block for University Hospital Limerick. The project involved the design and construction of 60 individual rooms with ensuites over 4 floors, inclusive of 6no PPVL Isolation rooms, associated support rooms including Nurse Stations, Ward Kitchenettes, Treatment Rooms, Clean and Dirty Utilities, Staff changing facilities and Admin areas.
The Mechanical Services included Natural Gas Fired Heating system complete with LPG back up, Chilled Water Systems, Extensive Ventilation Systems, Water Services, Medical Gases, BMS Controls, Pneumatic Transfer System.
The Electrical Services included LV Infrastructure and Switchgear, ICT Network, PBX System, Security Systems (CCTV/Access Control), TV/Radio System, Fire Alarm System, Staff Paging, Medical Trunking, Nurse Call & BMS Systems.
2 No. passenger lift (33 person/2,500kg), with 1 No. patient evacuation lift installed complete with dedicated back up power generator.
50KW peak power PV array installed (150 panels), with ESB G10 interface for parallel power supplies.
Full Dali lighting control system, All lighting SEAI triple E registered.
