Project Description

Varming Consulting Engineers were commissioned to design the mechanical and electrical services installations for this private residence which has been conceived to provide a dramatic living environment for its inhabitants by taking advantage of the aspect and sea views particularly to Ballycotton lighthouse. The Architects were very conscious to develop a building form that sits comfortably on site and works with the site contours. The massing of the house is a contemporary, sculptured one. The external finishes have been considered to help integrate this new building into the existing rugged setting.

Features

The design of the dwelling enclosure as well as the heating systems and building management were developed to ensure smart technology can react to various weather conditions even when the house is unoccupied.

A BER analysis of the building was carried out to include insulation to the walls, floors, roofs, air tightness performance of glazing packages, heating system and controls, ventilation and solar shading.
