Social Housing, Headford Road, Galway

Varming Consulting Engineers were recently appointed as part of an overall design team, with O’Briain Beary Architects leading the team, as Building Services Engineers associated with the Design and Site Monitoring including Building Regulation Certification (BCAR) of a new social housing scheme on the Headford Road in Galway City for Galway City Council.

The development will consist of a mix of dwelling units arranged on a sloping site with asscoiated site infrastructure / utilities.

It is proposed that the dwellings will feature energy efficient systems including gas condensing boilers, centralised demand controlled mechanical extract systems and photovoltaic roof panels. It is expected that the development will be subject to new impending NZEB requirements which will require overall reduced energy consumption for the development.

The project is expected to commence on site in early 2020 and complement our extensive successful experience in the Residential Sector and with Galway City Council.
