UKAS Accreditation Added to Varming’s BRE BIM Certification Status

Varming Consulting Engineers is accredited to the prestigious BRE’s BIM ISO 19650-2:2018 Certification. The Building Research Establishment (BRE) is the world-leading building science centre, and today it has been announced that its ISO 19650-2:2018 Information Management Certification for Businesses BIM Scheme is now accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

This comes after BRE successfully completed UKAS’s new BIM Certification pilot programme that has run since 2019. In the field of building design, this is the first time anywhere around the world that ISO/IEC 17065:2012 accreditation for BIM certification has been made available.

Moreover, UKAS represents the first body to carry out pilot BIM accreditation against the ISO 19650-2:2018 BIM standard and ISO 17065:2012 Conformity assessment standard.

What is BIM Certification?  BIM certification is offered by BRE to businesses within the construction, engineering and architecture industries and it’s provided for those looking to demonstrate their capabilities and compliance in relation to ISO 19650-2:2018.
